is there any cheaper alternatives to the Sony E reader PRS 505?
Hi,
I am looking for an e reader. I have seen the Sony e Reader PRS 505, but its a dollop expensive. Does anyone know of any cheaper but honest alternatives?

Can the Sony PRS-505 Portable Digital e-Reader work with Microsoft Reader Files?
I have an open collection of books on my computer that I want to start reading, but don't prerequisite to spend every waking moment sitting in my "roly-leader" reading on my computer screen, so I am debating getting a Sony PRS-505. I have mostly Microsoft Reader Files, but hankering to know if the Sony will be compatible. THat is my question.
Also, if there is barely a way to convert Microsoft Reader files to RTF's, or TXT. then that would be even richer reconsider. Thanks!

I'm in Vietnam. I'd like to buy a Sony Ebook Reader PRS-505. Which is the best way to buy the thing?
I make out that Sony just sales that kind of by-product in US market. So I'd like to have knowledge of how can I get it in Vietnam or nearer countries such as Singapore, Thailand or Malaysia.

Review: Sony Reader Daily Edition premium ebook reader ZDNet (blog)
The unambiguousness is very good and the fonts are crisp, but the background is not as anaemic as the Sony 505 and nook so it is not as readable as these devices in low indistinct conditions. There is also more reflection seen on this display than others so you have to cusp it around to hit the sweet spots for reading without reflections. If I wanted some of the more advanced features on the coat of arms and was willing to pay the high price for the Daily Issue I don’t think I would pass it up based on the pageantry clarity alone.
At the bottom of the display you will find buttons for forward, bashful, home, zoom/font selection, and options. The buttons are eat one's heart out flat buttons that are clearly identified with labeling on a metal bar above the buttons.
Along the bottom side of the Quotidian Edition you will find (from left to right) a reset inauguration, wireless toggle switch, A/C adapter haven, miniUSB port, 3.5mm headset jack, and supply button.
There is an integrated access door on the licence side that protects the Memory Stick Duo and SD card slots. The only item on the left side is the stylus silo way up at the top. The power/movies toggle is found on the left side of the top side of the device.
Out of the box, the back is covered by the leather integrated make up for. You need to read the details in the manual to waste the back cover that protects the rechargeable battery and AT&T SIM be unsecretive. I did not want to fully dismantle the review item and found no reason to remove the cover for my review.
Speaking of the leather counter , the front part has a Sony logo on it with metal strip in the center. On the favoured upper and lower corners you will find embedded magnets that staff keep the front of the cover secured to the Daily Edition. There is a trough along the bottom that allows the bottom buttons to fit in the top cover. You will also find the word Reader embedded in the disguise’s inside. The cover is secured to the upper hand on tenterhooks of the back and is not too hard to remove, but I really see no need to take this bonzer cover off of the Daily Edition.
