I principled brought a hp IPAQ hw6516f smartphone (actually I brought utterly a few by accident - I only wanted one). Its quadband 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz. Rang both Optus and Telstra and no one I spoke to could break me who ran on what frequency. I am really confused. I dont hunger for to subscribe to one only to find I should have subscribed to the other.
3G networks utilize W-CDMA, which is a wideband spread-spectrum ambulatory air interface that utilizes the direct system Code Division Multiple Access signalling method (or CDMA) to get higher speeds and support more users compared to the older TDMA signaling method of GSM networks. W-CDMA is a rival to CDMA2000.
It specifications over existing system disseminate channels are 5MHz wide @ aChip tariff of 3.84 Mcps.
There is no one specific frequency wander for a wireless/cellular exchange haulier, they all utilize a licensing of microwave receiver frequencies between 30 cm (frequency = 1 GHz) to 1 mm (300 GHz).
4G is basically the same technology only encompassing such technologies as Wi-Fi and WiMAX, and runs at speeds ranging from 100 Mbps (in apartment-phone networks) to 1 Gbps (in nearby Wi-Fi networks). 4G is not just one defined technology or archetype, but rather a collection of technologies and protocols to entrust the highest throughput, lowest charge wireless network possible.
