Mobile Life in easy way!

I am getting a new laptop, and cannot settle on between the Asus EEE and the G-Netbook.

Can anyone list the pros and cons of each and ascertain what the better buy is?
I will be using the webcam, and I will be using it while I am traveling.
I don't distress that the Asus EEE comes with windows, I am only looking at Linux prerogative now.

I had the same quandary you have, and after looking at them side by side, I went with the G Netbook. Here's why:

At the G Netbook's guerdon point, you get much more bang for your buck than the eee. A comprably priced eee only has 512mb ram and a 4g ssd - the G Netbook has 1g ram and a 30g deeply drive. The 20g eee model looked acute with its larger screen and improved storage, but at $600, it was out of my bounty range.

That being said, there are some compromises, namely the access moment on the almost unbearably slow 3600 rpm hardbitten drive. It's not that big a deal for me, but for some it's a dealbreaker. For what I do (email, videos, huddle processing,) it's fine. And even with the poverty-stricken drive, the g Netbook apparently has more battery spirit than the eee (although I can't say for sure.) Another issue with it is that there's not as big of a consumer base as with the eee- so you'll have less community stand by, mods/hacks/tips, etc.

I did put a copy of Windows, because I'm much more acceptable with that than with the gOS operating system. I'm sure it's elegant, but I really didn't give it a unlooked-for.

Anyway, you should also keep in mind that the next generation of these devices, based on Intel's Atom processor, will be out within the next yoke of months. Acer's Aspire One looks unusually good - although it seems that the battery life is not very profit.

I have a wireless postal card that came installed with the netbook, it only goes online through my router, not accomplished to connect to any free hotspots. My wireless New Year card is realtek and my netbook is the Sylvania Gbook. Thanks
I am adept to log on through a friend's laptop but not this one.
How can I associate with this laptop if it won't connect adn only connects to my router.
