What program do you use to transfer games, videos, & apps to a Smartphone or pocket PC?

I have a Verizon XV6900, and I have no objective how to transfer those things to my phone. I tried copying and pasting the apps to the phone's recollection but that never worked. I've searched the web and haven't been able to find anything.
