How do I connect my HP mini 1000 to an external monitor?

I have an HP mini 1000 laptop and i virtuous bought the vga adapter to connect it to an external monitor and I cannot get it to work. When I turn on the external up on it goes right to sleep. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

you have to huddle a key combination. Fn + F? button. i have a toshiba laptop and it's Fn + F8 to cycle through the display options. Look at your F keys and search for a survey icon on the key. should be fairly simple.

Will the HP Mini 1000 have any problems running Microsoft Office 2007?

So far the reviews for HP Mini 1000 did not call for if the Mini will have difficulties running Microsoft Word or Excel. I would like to know if Word or Outshine will tax it's processing speed. Thanks.

I am sensible about asking for an HP Mini 1000 next Christmas. My dad showed me an add about it in a magazine this morning, but he said that he didn't weigh it had Microsoft Power Point or Microsoft Word.

The mini 1000 does not get with Microsoft Office, however it comes with Microsoft Works which is the variation of Office. If you want, get OpenOffice.

I tried to see if I could go back to windows xp or something, but wasn’t accomplished to. I searched on youtube and found some nearly the same notebooks with windows xp, and even vista. I was unbiased wondering how I could go back to windows or even download windows, because I extraordinarily flinch from this motorized/linux crap. The first however I turned it on, it went into some transportable window like linux.
