I'm viewpoint about buying a laptop or netbook. Netbooks cost less so I might get one but most cheaper ones I can find only have 1gb ram. Is there a way to add ram to a laptop or netbook?

Well, you can upgrade the thought of the netbook to 2Gb memory module (so-dimm).

The trust is that a netbook is NOT a laptop.

A netbook is really useful for mobility.

Others, including the Transformer Pad, are iPad-like tablets that can be slid into hinged docks that classify keyboards and track pads. It's small and cramped, and the experience of typing on it is much like using a netbook: uncomfortable. Another mess is that the Android software the Transformer Pad runs was designed for touch-screen devices, not for keyboard-oriented ones. Some of these devices are usual laptops that are outfitted with touch-sensitive screens mounted on special hinges that allow them to be rotated or folded to skin their keyboards. One big one is that you generally can't view multiple applications at one time in Android. Asus' new Transformer Pad TF300 is among the first of a new genre of convertible devices that are heading toward store shelves. I've been testing out the Transformer Pad and I wrote part of this column on it, using its keyboard disguise. But certain tasks, like typing long documents or making spreadsheets, are still better suited for well-known computers, with their keyboards and precise pointing devices. Much of what you'd want to do on the device is just easier to accomplish using its lay a hand-sensitive screen. My take on the device is that it's a decent tablet, but a crummy laptop.
