Where do I find the "alphanumeric passkey" for Magellan GPS that my Blackberry apartment is asking me about?
Look at this fasten together to see if it will help:

The passkey is something you punch into one crest and must repeat on the second device.

I recently purchased a Magellan Roadmate 1412 GPS. This is first GPS of this brand that I've gotten. Plainly the maps are stored on an SD card. Does Magellan accord updates for their GPSes? If so, does it generally speaking mean buying a new SD card with updated maps on it?
When you get your gps mainly you need to go to there website and see if theres any undates. Is according to what month the units was made and how lengthy its been at the store. Just go to the Magellan website and see for an update and download it, and you will be great.

Looking to buy a handheld GPS part for geocaching. Considering Magellan Titon 1500 and Garmin Colorado 400. Ridiculous - will the Garmin topo Canada software trade with the Magellan GPS, or is the software somehow proprietary, such that it will ONLY work with Garmin ?
It's proprietary, go with the Colorado, I'm looking for a new piece right now for caching. Considering the GPSmap60 but more and more philosophical I should just go for the colorado, but I already have two pda's that I could use to go paperless.

Review: On the road with the Magellan Premium Car Kit
Filed under: Accessories, Devices, Reviews, iPhone, iPod come to earth a detonate

Magellan was nice enough to loan me a Premium Car Kit for the iPhone or iPod get to, so I put it in the car and drove around on both city streets and highways to get an viewpoint how it worked, particularly with the excellent Magellan Method Mate software [iTunes relate].
The Magellan kit is advertised to work with most other GPS apps, and can be adapted to with many iPhone cases so you don't have to pull your iPhone out of a suit to get it into the cradle. Setting up was easy: precisely plug in the cigarette lighter power adapter, hype stop up the other end of that cable into the cradle, and using the provided suction cup to bond it to your glass windshield. I was able to do that without upset. When the unit powers up, it is automatically in pairing system, and my iPhone found it quickly and paired.
I have an InCase rubberized cause for my phone, and even with the case, my iPhone seemed to fit into the cradle legitimate fine, but more on that in a moment. The Premium Car Kit has a built in GPS receiver, and I found that signal procurement seemed faster than using the iPhone built-in GPS. The by-product is advertised as working with any iPod consume (2nd generation or better) but since I don't have one of those laying around, I didn't get a befall to test that claim.
The unit also has an internal lecturer, and it was louder than the iPhone alone, so hearing conveyance directions was easier. The Magellan app allows access to your playlists, and I was masterful to get some music playing, and while it too was louder than the demagogue on the iPhone, I didn't find the volume intoxicated enough to want to listen to music that way.
The cradle lets you lose one's cool the phone to either a portrait or landscape bearings, so I used the landscape view, which the Magellan app supports,...
