i necessity a good but cheap handheld gps . suggestions?

I have a mark new in box Crimson TREO 680 for trade!
I was using it for a couple of days, though it still has the chintzy on the screen and everthing; I got the one I wanted, so I don't distress the crimson color anymore. . .

I footsteps ride in heavily wooded areas. I would like to start doing some riding off the beaten direction. I am interested to know what handheld GPS units some of you use. Which GPS gets the superb reception under heavy tree substitute? What about value for the money?

Go with the Garmin HCx. You'll be wondering where you DON'T get a signal. Garmin are the most desirable navigational systems in my opinion, and this handheld one is critical for going over the mountain and through the woods, to grandmother's company you'll go!

I call for to be able to get GPS coordinates from various places in Panama and then occur them on a Google map. Do I need a special handheld, software, etc.? Thanks!

You have to get one that has map capabilities, and that it has a map for Panama. I at the end of the day don't know if there's one, as I be sure we don't have a GPS map for the city streets to be familiar for car navigation.

As for recharging don't irritation, as we use the same voltage as in the US 110/120V

I'm growing on a long flight pretty at the end of the day and I have a handheld Garmin GPS. I'd like to use it to see where I am, how stable we're going, stuff like that. Is it secured to turn a GPS on when flying? What about during takeoff and alighting?

No it is against FAA laws to use any electronic appurtenances below 10,000ft above 10,000 certain electronic are permitted. GPS is never permitted at any altitude, it may impede with the air crafts navigational instruments.

with my GPS in the nissan, if i am off ferret out it will tell me to turn around for example. Do the handheld have any way of indicating you are off your path back to the car or a point of interest from your trail?
